A question that I am asked often is when is the best time to take newborn photos. This little miss happens to be an exceptional subject. She snoozed through her session without a peep. In turn, resulted in some seriously heart melting newborn baby girl pictures. Which just goes to show you that despite the recommended “best time”, great baby pictures can be achieved at any age.

This little one happens to be well past the recommended time frame for newborn photos. However, she is a Rockstar and we captured these precious newborn baby girl pictures with ease.
BEST TIME TO SCHEDULE
If possible the BEST time to schedule your newborn baby girl pictures is within the first 10 days of life. This is simply because baby is still mold-able and not easily disrupted when wrapped. Infants at this time usually sleep through the entire session and newborn portraits are a breeze to capture.
HAVE NO FEAR IF 10 DAYS IS NOWHERE NEAR
Don’t panic if those 10 days have long passed. This time limit is not set in stone. Amazing images can be achieved well after the 10 day mark. This little one is just shy of 30 days and look how heart melting her newborn baby pictured turned out!
Its also important to take into consideration of culture. Many families celebrate milestones differently. Such as the 100 days old milestone. A baby at this time is well past the 10 day mark, however, rest assured those sweet infant images will be captured.
Be sure to call your photographer as soon as you have a moment to get on their schedule. The sooner the better. I would recommend seeking one out before baby arrives. This way you can focus on the birth and not flipping through the phone book (does anyone have these anymore?) after baby comes.

These pictures are gorgeous! Such a beautiful session, and great information for new mamas. There’s so much going on in those early days it’s hard to know anything at all, but fitting in that newborn session is such a blessing.

Your photography is beautiful! We had pictures taken at the hospital, and I treasure those photographs! Our six week pictures were a little rough as my little man was hungry. Never a good time for photos when baby needs to eat!
