Relax

We began with a simple stroll and chat to calm the nerves.  There is a lot going through ones head during a photograph session.  Does my hair look good?  Is this dress OK?  Am I smiling at the right angle with the sun in the perfect place as a majestic eagle lands on my shoulder.  Just kidding about that last one.  But seriously, the best maternity photos and portraits in general are taken when everyone is relaxed.  Relax and enjoy the day as I make you look amazing!

Remember What We’re Celebrating

Its easy to get caught up in the moment.  This day is all about the life you are bringing into the world.  On this beautiful afternoon at White Rock Lake there was pure joy and love emanating from these two.  The excitement of their new addition projected onto those around them including myself.

Focus on the Bump

I always recommend a comfortable form fitting gown to show off that baby bump.  This mom was spot on with her wardrobe choices and flattering her bump was easy as pie.  Another tip I offer my mom-to-be’s is to bring along some flats if your wanting shots with heels.  Brewing up a baby is hard work.  Therefore, having comfortable shoes for strolling is a lifesaver.

Chat About What Excites You

I want to hear your story.  I want to know how you feel and your favorite baby outfit you have purchased thus far.  A new baby is surrounded with new beginnings and adventures.  Get those natural smiles going with talk of your favorites memories of this journey into parenthood.

Take it Easy

Your body is busy creating a human.  While on the venture of taking maternity photos its important to take it slow.  No need to rush such beauty and wonder.  This Dallas couple is the perfect example of bliss and serenity during their White Rock Lake session.  Enjoy the moment and embrace this new life.

Final Notes

You are pregnant and those final weeks can be tough.  When embarking on your journey for stunning maternity photos bring plenty of water and snacks.  Don’t forget your partner, even if you have to bribe them.  These memories are for you to look back on and shoe your little one where they came from.  So, they need to be included too.  Most of all, have fun!  This is your day Momma.  Now Rock your Maternity Photos!
