Twins Baby Photography – Dallas TX

I had the pleasure of capturing these beautiful twin girls before and after their arrival earth-side.  Just as their parents and older sister, they are the most relaxed babies ever.

As wondrous as a twins baby photography session can be, this day was pure bliss.  Not only were the twin baby girls happy as can be, but I had big sister to help me all the way.  She chose the perfect pair of headbands and wraps for her twin sisters baby photos.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the teamwork of mom and dad.  Dad’s have a way of parenting that is unique.  This dad happens to be so laid back, taking on twin baby life like a walk in the park.  As we set up for the net shot, these twin baby’s would relax over his shoulders and arms snoozing the day away.  The most adorable thing ever!

An amazing phenomenon I witness during every twins baby photography session is the connection the sibling have for one another.  They melt into one another when posed together.  A little hand in the others face does phase them at all.  They just relax with their sibling close by.  It’s beautiful.

As with shots together, I always give each newborn twin a time to shine on their own as well.  Although, I find them much happier when they are together.

Maternity Photography Dallas TX

This Maternity Photography session in the beautiful Arbor Hills Nature Preserve results in some stunning photos.  This entire maternity session was taken on an extremely chilly, wet and windy day.  However,  you will see how we make nature work for us!

Seriously, this day was full of laughter.  This couple has an amazing back story and great sense of humor.  Not only did I just adore them and this session, we happen to have both resided in the Rocky Mountains, in the same town and even had condos in almost the same spot!  Isn’t that crazy!?

Outdoors is one of my favorite places for maternity photos.  This location happens to be in my top three.  The wind was our personal glamor fan and made for some whimsical maternity photography in the beautiful Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.

The best part to this amazing day is the excitement and anticipation of meeting the little one when earth-side.  Be sure to follow me to see the big reveal of his newborn session to come!

Relax

We began with a simple stroll and chat to calm the nerves.  There is a lot going through ones head during a photograph session.  Does my hair look good?  Is this dress OK?  Am I smiling at the right angle with the sun in the perfect place as a majestic eagle lands on my shoulder.  Just kidding about that last one.  But seriously, the best maternity photos and portraits in general are taken when everyone is relaxed.  Relax and enjoy the day as I make you look amazing!

Remember What We’re Celebrating

Its easy to get caught up in the moment.  This day is all about the life you are bringing into the world.  On this beautiful afternoon at White Rock Lake there was pure joy and love emanating from these two.  The excitement of their new addition projected onto those around them including myself.

Focus on the Bump

I always recommend a comfortable form fitting gown to show off that baby bump.  This mom was spot on with her wardrobe choices and flattering her bump was easy as pie.  Another tip I offer my mom-to-be’s is to bring along some flats if your wanting shots with heels.  Brewing up a baby is hard work.  Therefore, having comfortable shoes for strolling is a lifesaver.

Chat About What Excites You

I want to hear your story.  I want to know how you feel and your favorite baby outfit you have purchased thus far.  A new baby is surrounded with new beginnings and adventures.  Get those natural smiles going with talk of your favorites memories of this journey into parenthood.

Alright, so your shoes are just not going to cut it when it comes to protecting those swollen toes of the human making machine you are.  Perhaps venting to your husband doesn’t end in the satisfactory results of heaping piles of ice cream, cottage cheese and cuddles that you hoped for.  Or, perhaps that call with your mom may leave you feeling bummed at the fact she lives 500 miles away.  You need someone in your corner.  Someone who gets it and I mean all of it.  This is when your NDDA Doula comes in.

YOU’RE NOT ALONE

Ok, you made it through the big push and your baby is earth-side.  Now you’re home and… alone.  For some mothers, those first weeks are hard.  Taking care of a newborn, breastfeeding and attempting to have clean laundry is exhausting. There you are again, on that deserted island.  Not with your NDDA Doula.  Doula’s will check in with you even after baby is born.  Tradition physicians simply schedule you for a check-up or two and that’s it.

I had a hard time breastfeeding my first and my NDDA Dallas Doula came to my rescue with several tactical tricks and tips to get my baby to latch and help me to relax while feeding.  It was amazing, baby was happy thereafter!  The North Dallas Doula Associates are the treasure at the end of the pregnancy resource map.

Doula’s are an amazing pregnancy resource for those naturalists out there.  I’m a crunchy mom.  I like it natural and free.  If you see it the same, a Doula will guide you through the garden of herbs.  Unlike traditional doctors, your Doula has some amazing tricks up their sleeve regarding natural ways to aid in pregnancy and labor.  Again, those magical wizard powers are put to work.  The spectrum for natural aids is vast, from teas to ready for labor to herbals for postpartum health.  Simply ask and you shall receive.

 I CRIED DURING A TAMPON COMMERCIAL

Others don’t get it.  Your hormones during pregnancy are as sporadic as the enemy fire in Galaga.  He wind could blow the wrong way and the next thing you know you’re a hot mess.  Again, there is your Doula to save the day.  Sometimes your spouse just cant relate or handle the situation properly for they just simply don’t know what to do.  Sometimes we ourselves don’t know what to do.  You know who does?  You got it, your NDDA Doula does!

I cannot stress enough how my Doula brought me back to earth when I was in full resident evil mode.  I must admit, my Dallas Doula knew what to say, what to do and bam, I was ok.  It’s something else entirely to have someone on your side to help you in those moments of distress.  It may seem simple to others to just “get over it”, but while pregnant, sometimes it’s hard.  It’s difficult to keep it together and even more so when you feel as though others don’t quite understand where you’re coming from.  This is why having a Doula is the ultimate support team.  It’s the power of 20 jam packed into one person.  They are simply amazing.
